(Not all is so...) Quiet on Christmas Eve!

I like to experiment with my voice. Well, that is really just another way of saying, I like to get my scream on. BECAUSE IT'S CHRISTMAS. And the third day of Hanukkah. There is a lot to be excited about!

I have already opened three or four presents- who's a lucky baby??? Chris got me a toy dog- that barks- and Tiffany gave me out a very cute outfit. She also brought over a baseball toy of Ian's that is super cool.

Since today is Christmas Eve, Gram will let me open a present. I just know it! Mommy has one for me as well, but she might make me wait until tomorrow. Unless I scream some more... MERRY PRE-CHRISTMAS, everyone!

Baby in the Buff

Dear Aiden,

You love to be naked! I am constantly chasing you to the window when we change diapers or clothes. (Let's hope this does not follow you into adulthood. There is a time and a place!)

You may hold this post against me someday... but you are just too cute for words! (I suspect you were cheesing for the camera and Gram- you are such the little boy model!)

I cannot remember how you made it to the tree, naked, dragging your onesie, but I know Chris and I were cracking up as I got out the camera! It had been a rough day, and you brought us so much cheer and laughter! Thank you, dear boy, for the joy you bring to our lives!

love,
mom

Tree Shopping

Mommy, Chris and I went Christmas tree shopping the first weekend in December. It was really cold, but we had fun choosing a fat, green Douglass Fir and two poinsettias.

Check out my cool winter coat (or should I say, warm?) This photo was taken before my fussy time (tooth #8) when Bonnie came to babysit. Sorry about that, Bonnie. I do still love you!

Baby's First Thanksgiving

Updates

Hello, everyone and Happy Holidays!

I know I have not written in a while- but things have been busy and mommy is reluctant to let me use the mac now that I have officially broken two keys (um, sorry mom).

I will post several new updates over the next few days and promise to be better about keeping up my blog. We have so many new pictures and lots of fun news for you all! I am learning to walk... and today I said, "ah-na-na" after mommy said banana (or each time she gave me a banana!)

Okay, I am off to terrorize the Christmas tree and eat some more cottage cheese with peaches.

Monkeying Around

Happy Halloween!

I was a lion by day and a monkey by night!

I helped G-mom cook... or did I just make a big mess?

Ooooh... more drawers! What's inside, Mommy?

I do love making a mess!

I want to give a big thanks to Maki for my lion costume and a giant hug to Ian (and his mommy, Tiffany) for my monkey suit! I had so much fun wearing them both! What a lucky boy I am (or so mommy tells me...) I CANNOT wait until next Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch II

Just one more pumpkin for the front porch, mommy! Please? I really like the kind with the bumps!

Enough of these pumpkins. I want to check out the gourds.

Grrr. Can we go home, mommy? I think I have hay stuck in my mouth.

I am tired, Bonnie. Is it nap time, yet?

Can I try some pumpkin bread, too?

Pumpkin Patch

On Wednesday, October 29th, Mommy, Bonnie and I went to a pumpkin patch. I got to wear my monkey and lion costumes while the ladies took pictures. We also bought baking pumpkins to make soup and bread. Yum.

This pumpkin has warts, mommy.

Hay tastes good.

Where's my banana?

ALCS 2008

After yesterday's game against Tampa Bay, I wonder, "What happened?"

I wore my lucky Little Papi shirt... and mommy wore her Big Papi shirt, so what went wrong?

I know! Mom should make turkey burgers tonight! That will guarantee a win! As Tampa leads Boston 2-1, we have to keep our fingers (and toes) crossed that tonight they kick some major diapers tonight at Fenway! I want to see my first World Series! Go RED SOX!

My New House and... the RED SOX!

Okay. So mommy finally let me use the mac today. It has been in the cabinet for quite some time. I think she was waiting for wireless internet or maybe the new power cord? I dunno. But I miss this little computer! That silly HP is hard to type on, yet I love to watch the replays and interviews on mlb.com.

Last night, Boston beat the LA Angels at Fenway! They will play the Devil Rays (or is it just the Rays?) Friday night in Florida. Stupid indoor baseball field. Mommy invited G-dad and Spanky over but Memphis is playing Louisville. Sigh. I guess it will be just me, mommy and Chris. Maybe we can get Julie to watch as well?

More blogs to come soon... with NEW photos! I sure did miss my mac! Thank you for remaining patient with me, faithful readers. And with mommy- she really has been busy the past two months. Now she is studying for something called the GRE. How does she find the time to do all this?

Off to bed (again). Love and hugs,

Aiden the Cole

Ma MA!

Last Tuesday, Aiden said Ma ma for the first time!

I was trying to be very practical about it- oh, no. He doesn't really know what he is saying... so I continue washing dishes. Tired and worn out from the move, I was looking forward to baby bedtime.

In an attempt to get my undivided attention, Aiden stops bouncing in the jump up and exclaims, "Ma MA!"

I shut off the water, turned around and stared at him; with a grin, he began bouncing again... then said, " Ma ma" very calmly.

Quickly finishing the dishes, I turn my back on him again and the same thing happened- Ma MA with shrill emphasis on the second syllabul. How precious, I thought. Aiden is trying to get my attention.

Since then, he has called me Ma ma every day, but usually when he wants my attention, while we are driving, or if he is procrastinating nap or bed time. Ah, ha. Smart little guy. Make an irritated mommy's heart melt!

We are currently working on "Gee-dad," "Juu-wee" and "Ma-kee." Bonnie, Spanky and Miranda will have to come later!

New pictures of Aiden Cole and the NEW house to come soon...

Ba, ba, ba, Ma, ba, BA !

Aiden has begun to babble.

It is too cute, especially when he does it to get my attention. (For example, I was in the pantry searching for something and he exclaimed, "Ba BA!" loudly. I turned around and he grinned at me, continuing to scoot along the floor in his new walker. Several minutes later, I reach out of the kitchen for the baby food, greeted by "BAH!")

Every time I think we are closer to a "Ma ma," the bah or ba gets thrown in... it is only when Aiden cries, that he will occasionally wails, "ma ma ma ma..." This is unintentional, I assume (or I hope).

"Ma bah. Ba ba ba ba" during bath time is a greater attempt at defining who I am. Or so I choose to believe. It could just be all baby talk. But it does bring me closer to Ma ma!

For the love of... Electronics?

I love G-Dad's cell phone. Aside from mommy's laptop, it is my favorite toy. Oh, but like most men, I do enjoy the remote control.

Earlier this week, I drooled on G-Dad's phone so much that it quit working. Or maybe he dropped it? Who knows? Mommy will not let me play with her phone anymore. Mean ol' mommy. G-Dad spoils me; and I love every minute!

I apologize for not blogging lately... things around the Bernal House have been so hectic! Mommy is preparing to move into the New House (while I play with a trove of lovely ladies) and G-Dad has been helping move things and paint. Next week... I will be in my new house. Hello, sleepless nights, mommy! Ha ha ha!

I have much news to share with my dedicated readers: new foods, babbling, crawling, sitting up... and some great new toys. I am already wearing 9 month old clothes because I am so tall (like my uncle)! But those details will have to wait until later. Mommy, Bonnie (one of my pretty ladies) and I are going SWIMMING! Then Bonnie and I are hanging out until this evening. I love Bonnie. Mommy says Miranda is too old for me, but I wonder, is Bonnie?

Will she wait until I get big and marry me? I do love my Bonnie...

Little Boy Blue

Today, my teeth hurt.

I was grouchy.

Then, I took a long nap. Behold- a better baby! I was much happier, and so was mommy. We sat outside and listened to the thunder. I love to watch the rain... it is so pretty!

Sipping on Some Apple Juice, Sip Sip Sip

My first sippy cup, for babies 3 months and up, made by Nuby. BPA free. But wow, the spout on this thing is ridiculous and mommy took it away when I nearly choked on my baby juice. Talk about some flow!

We will not be using this for another few months.

This sippy is my favorite! Born Free, also BPA free, and complete with a travel lid so I can sip at the store!

There may be seven separate parts to this gosh darn sippy but I do like it... in fact, I cry when mommy takes it away and says, all gone. But what does that mean, mommy?

My First TWO Teeth

Guess what, guys? I have two teeth now. TWO.
Sorry I have not blogged in a while... mommy wanted to break the news when we had a good picture. She has not been able to get one yet, as I do not like to hold my mouth open. Well, unless something is really funny!

Twelve days ago, mommy noticed my first tooth, on the bottom right side. Exactly eight days later, my second tooth broke through right next to the first one! They really hurt sometimes, especially after 4 o'clock or close to bedtime, but I can have baby oragel now. And I do love my cold apples, sweet potatoes and bananas.

I am SO excited about my new teeth. He he, the better to bite you with, mommy!

My New Chair

Gram bought me a new vibrating chair that converts to a toddler rocker!

It took some getting used to, but I like it now. Mommy puts me in the chair every morning while she eats breakfast and fixes coffee. I just wish I could pull the toys down like I could on my old one...

Mommy painted my room with Tiffany on Tuesday night. It is a pretty blue color. I can't wait to move in!

Bananas, Apples and Oatmeal, Oh my!

I just had the best breakfast!

Mommy let me try bananas today with my morning oatmeal. Boy were they tasty!

In the past week, I have tried apples, oatmeal and bananas. Later this week, mommy says I can have something called peas. I wonder, do they taste sweet, too?

Baby apple juice diluted with water is also on my horizon... mommy bought several infant sippy cups to try out. I used one at Maki's house on Thursday and liked it but... it sure is not the bottle!

Bananas!

My daily breakfast consists of bananas and oatmeal or apples. I still am not crazy about pears, but I will eat them.

Why are my 'nanas pink, Mommy?

I love to feed myself.

Bye, Bye Manny

Dear Manny Ramirez,

I heard about the trade today on ESPN. Mommy and I will miss you. I hope you have fun with the Dodgers. Maybe Uncle Nelson can go and see a game before he leaves LA? I am so jealous... I always hoped Mommy would take me to Fenway to see you play with the Red Sox. Oh, well. There is always Big Papi and JD Drew. He's my man!

I will miss your charisma, dreadlocks, home runs and occasional outfield bobble. Good luck in the West.

Love,
Aiden

And now I will eat...

... Nigel's tail.

Yum. A bit hairy, though. Can we sweeten it with applesauce, mommy?

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Apples

A new favorite: APPLES.
Or rather, organic applesauce.

Can I have some more, mommy?

Sweet Potatoes

YUM.

My favorite, so far!

Pears

I am not quite sure what to think of this new fruit mommy is feeding me. It is a tad tart.

Tomorrow, I will eat something called sweet potatoes. The next day, mommy says I can try a new cereal as well, maybe oat or barley! This solid food thing sure is fun... I think I like spoons the most, though!

Rumor has it, Sunday I can eat applesauce and watch the Red Sox play the Yankees. Awesome!

Rice Cereal

This just keeps getting better and better...

I think I need a napkin, Mommy.

First Food

In honor of turning six months old, Mommy let me eat solid food.

On Sunday, July 20th, Mommy fed me rice cereal in my high chair. I got to wear a bib and everything.

It tasted good, but I wanted to hold the spoon myself.

I particularly like the colorful plastic ones Mommy bought.

What, do I have something on my chin?
