Happy Easter!

Here I am eating (with two spoons, mind you) and sitting in my high chair.

This time last year, I could not even sit up! Let's take a trip down memory lane:

BUNNY FEET? Seriously, mom. That is so embarrassing.

Now that is one seriously handsome fella. (Thank gosh you cannot see the ridiculous feet from this angle.) And who likes to hang out on the changing table- not this toddler! That was SO last year!

Happy Egg hunting! It is raining here, so mom and I are playing with elmo and baseball easter eggs inside, watching Boston beat the LAA.

Hello, Big Papi!

I woke up from an unusually long nap today and... BASEBALL was on! Mom was not kidding when she told me that the season opener had been moved to this afternoon! Another year of Red Sox games on MLB Extra Innings- yippee!

PS This homemade whip cream is good.

Whatz up, G-dad?

I do not like wearing hats- at least not since I was very little. But mommy told me that this was G-dad's hat, so I had to wear it! I want to put it on all the time so I can be just like my G-dad. (It is so small, I wonder how G-dad got his big head to fit in there!)

Calipari is really leaving?! That's it, mom. I do not want to wear this Tigers hat anymore (even if it was G-dad's)!

Dishwasher, what dishwasher?

Mom, I do not know what you mean. I am not in the dishwasher... I am simply standing on the door!

This is my way of helping out in the kitchen!

Elmo in Action

Here I am, watching Elmo, holding my very own Elmo, and drinking from my new sippy. Ah, another morning...

Chilling in my Elmo chair.

Cross legged in my favorite chair- yep, it's still Elmo.

A Noothgrush on my Toothbrush

When mom told me I had a new Elmo toothbrush, I thought: why would you give me something so small to brush my hair? This is ridiculous, mom!

PS That was a few weeks ago- I am pretty good at it now- I can even clean my new molars!!!

Hello, again!

Faithful readers, forgive me!

I have been so busy lately- I forgot to blog! Oh, no! With my newfound skills of walking and running, I just do not sit and type anymore (or read much Red Sox news). I will try to get back in the swing of things so you can all stay Up to Date !

Here is the long awaited link to my birthday party pictures- I meant to post those in the last blog, but Ina Garten came on the Food Network. I love my Ina. And "Ah-jah" (Giada de Laurentis) but sometimes we miss her if I nap late or mommy runs errands. If I am extra good, mommy lets me watch a clip of Ina cooking something in the morning on her Mac. Isn't she sweet? I do love my Ina; and her husband Jeffery is so funny! I carry a plastic spatula and pan around when Ina comes on so I can cook just like her (and like mommy, of course).

Recently, Gram introduced me to Elmo on PBS while mommy was at work. I LOVE Elmo. If Elmo and Ina got together to do a show, I would be in HEAVEN. I sit in my chair (with Elmo on the cover) and watch Elmo's world. Why does mommy always make a face when he comes on, I wonder? He is delightful! Lalalala, Elmo's world... I dance, too, in case you haven't guessed.

Off to Target! Love to you all and here's to spring (which means: playgrounds, stroller walks, pool trips and vacations!)

xoxo,
Aiden Cole

The Party Continues

Mommy made a delicious homemade cake that is baby/toddler friendly, and Gram made the vanilla cream cheese frosting. Thank you Ina Garten for the great recipes. I could not get enough!

Here I am with Lili, taking a break from my new cars and trucks to grab a sugary snack.

Back to work. There was so much to unwrap (and clean up) and this was my biggest gift of all: the kitchen. Now I can have my very own kitchen to play in when mommy is cooking in the big kitchen. I am getting so bored with the cabinets, pots and pans in there. Bring on the new!

It would not be a proper Bernal bash without Uncle Spanky and G-Dad being silly, or rather, in the spirit of birthday fun. Mom wore a hat, too, but only for the candle lighting and singing. Hey, Gram, where was your hat?

Oh, you made dinner for the grown-ups. That is completely understandable. I forgive you! Mom said those enchiladas were tasty!

Just kidding. I have to wait several (many!) more birthdays before I can taste the High Life.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to attend my first party. I had so much fun- and there are more pictures to come in our Picasa web album. I had a great birthday, and I missed those who were not there; I sure appreciate the cards and gifts that were sent in the mail or Lili's car.

Happy First Birthday, Aiden!

On Sunday, January 25th, I had my very first birthday party! Although it was early (in the tradition of the Bernal's Happy Pre-Birthday song), we had a big day planned...

For breakfast, Chris made banana and chocolate chip pancakes (I had plain banana). Then after a long nap (your welcome, mommy), Lili and Gram fed me cheese, crackers, grapes and delicious snacks while mommy set out food and G-dad hung streamers. Bonnie iced the homemade carrot-raisin-pineapple cake (see picture at left), and Lili dressed me in this dashing overall/plaid shirt outfit.

We opened presents after having some wine and cheese, waiting for more guests to arrive (but before the cake...) I received so many cool toys. There were even packages from family members out of town- boy, am I a lucky boy! Here is Baby's (toddler's?) first hammer. Interesting... I really just like to take the pegs out and put them back in. The darned red one will not come out!

The stackable Haba blocks are quite fun- especially to chew on. Look at all these new colors... and check out those lovely ladies in the background. How you doin' Eden and Bonnie?

I was taking a break from all the unwrapping and posing. I suspected that some juice and carrot cake was on my horizon.

Happy New Year!

Happy Belated New Year's, everyone!

On New Year's Day, mommy let me go to brunch with Chris (well she was there, too, but I was focused on the ladies at the next table). It was fun and I had a delicious biscuit. My gosh, mommy, take me back there! Let me try the New Orleans waffle next time!

This may have been the turning point in my excursions out, because "oh he did so well" is like saying, "Aiden, you get to do this again soon!" Yeah, baby!

The last day to contemplate Christmas ornaments and all of their splendor...

Have you seen my sock?

A Very Sniffly Christmas

On Christmas Day, I was sick with my very first cold. I still had a good time, though!

Here I am at the grandparent's house, opening gifts with A Christmas Story playing in the background. This lady bug finger-puppet book is pretty neat. Mommy keeps it in the diaper bag now, and I am constantly hunting around for it!

I received an excess of Memphis Tiger gear. Typical.

In fact, I am wearing a cool white and blue onesie now that looks very rugby like. Go Tigers!

Truth be told, I was far more interested in mommy's big gift boxes and all the used wrapping paper. I do really love my gifts now, though, especially the Leap Frog musical table! I get my blues and jazz groove on while mom makes dinner or cleans the kitchen.

On the last day of Hanukkah, Chris gave me a book that his mommy read to him when he was a little boy. This is a pretty good action shot!

I discovered the ornaments on the tree a few days after it went up in December, but I was good about staying away (this is actually how I learned to shake my head). On the last few days of the season, mom 'ignored' my interest in a few ornaments on low lying branches. Check out this one- do you recognize moi?

Happy Holidays!

My very first gift, from Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Michael. (See next pic below!) I definitely got the hang of unwrapping very quickly!

Chris gave me a stuffed puppy (that barks!) for the first night of Hanukkah. At first, the box was more fun to play with, but mommy was concerned that I was ingesting the paper. Take note: I am sitting next to my Lion, a very cool walking/riding toy that Aunt Stephanie mailed in late November. Let me just say that his nose is way cooler than Rudolph's!

Mommy has Santa hats for the chairs and I got one on my highchair. Boy is she weird! More grapes, mom!

On Christmas Eve, mommy, G-dad, Gram (ma-na) and Spanky all gathered at our house for drinks, lobster and games. I got to open a talking piggy bank with coins! It was so fun (well, until I came down with a cold that night...) Merry Christmas, mommy! Did you enjoy the constant waking, snot and boogies?

Who looks naughty in this picture?

Longtime, no blog!

Hello, friends and family!

I know mommy and I have fallen behind with our blog the past few months and we vow to get better! Over the next week or so, she will help me write and upload pics detailing a few milestones... like my first steps, new words, first winter holidays, and the most recent, my FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Okay, this snack cup with the squishy lid is way more interesting than the Mac laptop. I am partial to the peach flavored puffs and little gold fish inside. Yum. Gotta go play with this thing for a while and I will get back to you!Much love and a Happy New Year to all!
